Mechanical Fitter
About the Role
We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join the Convair team on a full-time basis in Epping, Melbourne (onsite).
This role is required to perform high-quality mechanical fitting, assembly, and repair work on pneumatic bulk tankers and associated components, ensuring safe work practices, adherence to customer specifications, and contribution to continuous improvement initiatives within the production and repair teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Apply strong mechanical skills in both production and repair settings.

Fit new compressors, blowers, and PTOs to prime movers accurately.

Assemble compressor power packs and other mechanical components.

Perform finishing tasks on production tankers to meet customer specifications.

Conduct mechanical repairs and assembly on trucks and tankers as needed.

Carry out general mechanical assembly and repair duties.

Adhere to ‘MakeSafe’ Safety standards.
About You
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Trade qualified – mechanical (or equivalent).

Positive attitude and eagerness to contribute to business improvements.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:

Forklift and/or HR truck license (not essential).

Confined space certification.
-
Skills in spray painting.
