About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join our team on a permanent full-time basis at Penfield, South Australia. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production activities within the assigned area, providing direction and support to shop floor employees, reporting weekly on progress and KPI performance, and building strong professional relationships with both management and the shop floor team. 

This role will report to the Supervisor, East.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead by example in the implementation and improvement of the workplace safety culture
• Adhere to agreed start and finish times and set meal breaks.
• Provide leadership in relation to housekeeping in your area of responsibility
• Conduct the daily toolbox talk and align personnel to production targets
• Ensure clear communication between supervisors and shop floor employees 
• Allocation of tasks to the shop floor after consultation with and direction from the relevant supervisor to ensure maximum workforce utilization to meet production targets
• Actively support and promote daily targets, lean boards and 5S white boards
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and assist in internal audits
• Assist supervisors when preparing quotations by providing estimates in a structured and factual manner
• Play an active role with the relevant supervisor in arranging workflow and placement of work in the workshop
• Inform the relevant supervisor of poor work performance buy any employee in their area of responsibility
• Immediately report to the relevant supervisor any existing or potential liability to the Company
• Ensure all paperwork, job packages, timesheets, etc. are completed correctly and in a timely manner

About You

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 

• Sound general engineering knowledge
• Strong Technical and Industry Knowledge
• Microsoft Office skills (MS Excel and MS Word)
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks to changing workloads
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
• Sound interpersonal and organisational skills

 

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences: 

• Trades Qualification or Tertiary Qualification
