Mechanical Fitter
About the Role
We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team on a casual basis in Rutherford, New South Wales. The primary function of this role is preventative maintenance, repair and overhaul of rolling stock and components
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventative maintenance of rolling stock wagons
- Overhaul of rolling stock components
- Inspections and repairs to rolling stock
- Fault finding.
This role will report to Workshop & Safety Supervisor.
About You
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Served a recognised apprenticeship or National relevant Trade Recognised qualification
- Ability to work from drawings
- Medically fit and physically capable of performing the duties described above
- Willingness to participate in work rosters (including shift work if necessary) and undertake reasonable amounts of overtime (including weekend work as required)
- High levels of interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written), with proven ability to relate well to all levels of an organisation and work as part of a team delivering high levels of customer service
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks to changing workloads
- Current Australian driver’s licence is required for the performance of duties relating to this position.
- Sound general engineering knowledge.
- Ability to work unsupervised and adhere to strict deadlines
- Ability to understand and comply with Rail Safety and Occupational Health and Safety legislative principles and practice
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
- Ability to Weld - ARC, MIG
