Supply Chain Coordinator
About the Role
We now have an exciting opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic individual to join our organisation as a Supply Chain Coordinator on a full-time basis, based in our new workshop in Rockhampton, Queensland. In the short term, this role will require travel to Gladstone, QLD to support operational needs. Following this initial period, the position will be based exclusively in Rockhampton. The primary function of this role is to develop, manage, execute, and monitor all functions relating to procurement, supply, and logistics planning for the Gemco Rail business.
Responsibilities
- Request quotes and raising purchase orders to purchase materials & services to support operational requirements with critical timelines. Expedite purchase orders as required.
- Work closely with the production and supply chain teams to ensure stock holdings meet operational and budget requirements.
- Participate in the negotiation of appropriate contracts for pricing and supply.
- Replenishment of materials using MRP or manual process.
- Regularly stocktake materials to ensure that inventory records are accurate
- Complete stock adjustments in a timely manner.
- Resolves invoice queries in a timely manner to allow for the payment of suppliers.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports as required to provide insights to management.
- Implement product security procedures to ensure the security of stock and accuracy of material available is reflected in the ERP system.
- Ensure that maintenance assets are calibrated and serviced as per the service requirements.
- Management of obsolete stock process as per Gemco Rail’s procedure
- Participate in site operations meetings to identify material requirements and respond to operational changes.
- Pick and Pack goods as per operational requirements.
This role will report to National Supply Chain Manager.
About You
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years’ experience in purchasing/inventory management environment
- Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory and warehousing best practices
- Good knowledge of ERP to manage end to end Supply Chain transactions
- Strong ability to reconcile inventory
- Able to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently.
- Maintains effective relationships with suppliers, customers, and other internal/external stakeholders.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Understanding of the WHS requirements.
- Forklift Licence.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
• Experience working in a production environment managing stock levels and demand needs.
• Previous experience with SAP.
• Qualifications in logistics or Supply Chain.
